where.why.
The city.
Tutrakan - the city of the sunset they call it. In its literal meaning. I would also name it like that, but not with the idea of the hot sun melting into the waters of the Danube river. There are a lot of talanted young people who don’t have a stage to show themselves and a lot of citizens who don’t have a cultural social space to spend their free time.
The site.
Municipal Children's Center for Extracurricular Activities. There is a wide variety of activities there - from drawing and dancing, to singing, sports and summer camps. But closed only within the perimeter of the building, they have no stage to be shown. The potential of the yard can be harnessed. By using it we can recover connections:
what.
A new space focused on social events, tied to the already established social center.
program.
summer cinema, exhibitions, board game night, summer workshop, outdoor rehearsals
format.
10-days workshop leaded by a team of 3 people (2 architecture students and a carpenter), organized for the young artists in the town
